Over the years, in my practice, I have heard repeatedly, that one must not combine different qigongs as different qigongs would have their own specialized way of clearing the channels and would produce very specific energy signatures in the human energy body. Combining different qigongs will produce energies that will disrupt each other and would tangle up the channels. By combining, I mean practising 2 or 3 different qigong sets at different times, lets say TFEMQ at night and a different qigong set by day AND NOT practising 1 set of qigong right after one another. I would just like to know how compatible TFEMQ with other qigongs. The reason for my questions is that I maintain a yiquan practice. It is martial art that utilise extensive standing meditation which is also a form of qigong. I practice TFEMQ primarily to heal (internal)injuries, illnesses and generally to supplement my internal energies. Thankyou and best wishes from Malaysia Message was created on 8/2/2005 11:10:07 PM |

In general, students are encouraged to stay with one style of qigong for one to three months before they decide if they will switch to other style of qigong or stay with it. It is not a good practice to practice two or three different forms of qigong on the same days since many qigongs apply different techniques to lead the qi going through different channels, they may not be complementary to each other, but offset other's qi generation. However, for Taiji five-element qigong, it is OK for a student to combine with other movement qigong form to get a more complete work on both mind and body. For example, have taiji chuan or Baduanjing in the morning, and practice classic meditation in the evening. It seems that most of your questions have been answered in master He's Chinese book and our web site. Please read those sources first before posting a question. This is follow-up question similar to the queries raised by Chee Gay Wong. What happens if you stop practising another type of medical Qigong (in this case Shen Chi Kung) and the very next day start TFEMQ? Will the benfits of the old practice overlap the new or initially block the effectiveness of TFEMQ ? Message was created on 11/20/2005 7:57:06 AM |
